The City answered September's letters with the same PDF. It says Salt Lake City Public Utilities "would reasonably require" safety, maintenance and liability terms, but it never says what Public Utilities actually asks for. Public Utilities will deal only with the City, so only the City can find out. This letter asks one thing: what does Public Utilities require for a pedestrian gate at Arbor Lane, and will the City ask them in writing? The part nobody else can write is your own story.
One or two sentences. Who walked here, how long, and what you cannot do now. This is the part they actually read. Let them sit with what we have lost with their inaction.
Would you help pay for it?
The City's letter says any next step needs "the funding necessary to support it." State trail grants let private donations and volunteer hours count toward the local share. If you would put money or time into a gate and path at Arbor Lane, say so in your letter. Nothing is charged and no money changes hands now. We keep a running total to show the City.
Your letter
Your letter already goes to Mayor Fotheringham and Council Member Sundwall, because the Arbor Lane fence sits in District 1. Adding the member for your own district means one more person has to write back to you.
You have not added your own sentence. The letter still sends, but without it this is one more form email and it will be counted as one.
